Soft, listen to those words so cold and careless
Fair whispers to describe a fare woman, “savorless”
Flavorless and in all other meaning insipid
--words from standards that demanded
More than just the ordinary.
Oh but her eyes To give an impression, first.
Her eyes.

That pierce through pride (Or at least the facade of one)
His judgmental comments that hold not contempt
But bitter memories of a soldier who stole his little sister's virginity.

... And here she thought He was a shallow gentry.
lacking consistency, lacking flavor.
here she thought He was the insipid one,
but whose impression impressively lingered.
